Hamburg (dpa/gms) - You shouldn't give away game or their after-breedings to Christmas. Often, this bought animals will be «decontaminated» after a little while in the nature, this advises the National Association Hamburg of the Nature Protection Federation Germany (NABU)
Because they were raised up in captivity these animals wouldn't have a chance to survive in the free nature. This concerns for example abandoned tree-frogs, asps, zebra finches and canaries from the mediterranean region. In the breeding these animals have never learnt to find their food in the free nature and to get out of the way of enemies. Otherwise released exotic animals can be dangerous for the native animal- and plant species and they can endanger their existence according to the NABU.
